History
HumRRO was established in 1951 as the Human Resources Research Office of The George Washington University to carry out an integrated program of human resources research for the Department of the Army. In 1967, HumRRO's charter was modified to extend its research and development activities to other departments of the Federal Government, to state and local governments, and to private organizations. In 1969, HumRRO separated from the university and incorporated as a non-profit research organization.
Organization
HumRRO research and development activities are organized into three divisions, which are further divided into several specialized groups (see organization). This structure is quite fluid. Based on the scope of the project, we combine a unique blend of talent from across these groups to best serve our customers’ needs.
Staff
HumRRO’s professional staff is composed primarily of psychologists, statisticians, management analysts, computer scientists, and technicians. Our research staff currently comprises approximately 83 employees. About 63 percent of the researchers have earned advanced degrees, 28 percent of them are doctoral degrees (many of which are in Industrial/Organizational Psychology). Additionally, we employ over 20 individuals in support staff and general management roles. HumRRO’s senior staff members have a long history of developing and managing research and consulting projects of broad scope. Some of these scientists have national and international reputations in their fields. Many have been officers of professional associations, editors of scientific journals, authors of books, and frequent invitees to national and international conferences. Their research and professional relationships have given them wide visibility in business, academic and government circles.
