Dr. Jennifer Geimer won the 2012 Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP) Distinguished Early Career Contributions Award--Practice.

This award recognizes excellent psychologists who are at  early stages of their careers (up to 7 years after receiving their doctorates) and is given in recognition of their contributions to the  practice of industrial and organizational psychology.

Dr. Dan Putka was recently elected to fellowship status in APA's Division 19, Society for Military Psychology

Dr. Dan Putka was recently elected to fellowship status in APA's Division 19, Society for Military Psychology. Dan's research contributions to military psychology cover the range of issues for both enlistment personnel and officers including recruitment and entrance standards, personnel selection and job classification, promotion, performance evaluation, and attrition.

Dr. Gavan O'Shea receives Outstanding Alumni Award

Dr. Gavan O’Shea  received the College of Science Outstanding Recent Alumni  Award from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech). The award is granted annually to a person who graduated in the past 10 years. Gavan was nominated by the Department of Psychology. He earned his PhD in Industrial/Organizational Psychology in 2002.

Crawford Fellowship Awarded

On August 13, Bill Strickland awarded the 2011 Meredith P. Crawford Fellowship in Industrial and Organizational Psychology to Adam Beatty, a 4th year doctoral student at the University of Minnesota.

Dan Putka receives SIOP Presidential Celebration Coin

Dan Putka recently was presented with the SIOP Presidential Celebration Coin for Science and Practice. This is a new program initiated by SIOP President Eduardo Salas as a means to recognize SIOP members who go beyond the call-of-duty and exhibit exemplary and extraordinary behavior in support of science and practice.
